Gholamreza Amirshaghaghi told Shana reporter about the incident this evening (Thursday, November 19) in Khark Petrochemical Complex: \u201cThe liquefied natural gas (LPG) unit of Khark Petrochemical Company caught fire around 5:00 PM today which was contained after about 15 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

He attributed the fire to depleted hydrocarbons during major repairs to the LPG unit, adding: “Unfortunately, one employee died in the accident, two suffered superficial burns and another employee suffered burns who was sent outside of the island for treatment.”<\/p>\n

The CEO of Khark Petrochemical Company stated that the LPG unit had became non-operational on Wednesday (November 18) for major repairs, adding: “Currently, the operational processes of Khark Petrochemical Plant are continuing normally and the methanol unit is fully operational.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
